What brings you joy?
WHO WE ARE
Meet Angela
With her background as a nurse, Angela is deeply rooted in community care and empowerment. Her goals for Vessels of Joy reflect her desire to have a positive impact on her community by creating something comfortable, affirming and supportive. She believes in the power of love and joy to promote healing, and through Vessels of Joy, she seeks to emphasize the inherent love and joy our bodies and souls carry.
Angela sees life's challenges as opportunities to rediscover our capacity for love and aims to remind people that they deserve joy, regardless of their circumstances. She believes that all healing starts from within and wants to inspire others through gentle reminders of love, deep care, and comfort.
“I want to create something that facilitates healing, self love, community and promotes joy.”
“Within the human experience there is so much to be discovered about ourselves and the world around us. I believe one of the most valuable discoveries is learning how to fuel our own bodies and minds with frequencies of love and how to find joy and comfort in the mist of painful and trying moments. We are all deserving of this discovery. We are all deserving of healing and restoration to help guide us to our own authentic forms of self love and care.
Our bodies are vessels made for joy
Give them love
Give them care
Give them comfort
Our minds are vessels made for joy
Give it love
Give it care
Give it comfort”
— Angela Trujillo
Outside of the hospital walls, she cares and tends to her many plants, travels often with her partner to many different cities and beautiful landscapes, she finds deep connection in nature, hiking and spending time in the sun. She finds solitude in movement and values her yoga practice and long walks. She loves cooking and experimenting with new recipes and often baking something sweet for her loved ones. Diving into her creativity of photographs, painting and making collages bring her ease. Angela finds joy in early mornings, jumping in the ocean, drinking a cup of tea, exploring art galleries, dancing, and eating tacos.
Meet Delaney
Delaney’s love for human connection, nature, movement, and wellness has driven her to contribute to Vessels of Joy. It feels to her to be a variation of a dream she has held; to use simple sentiments of incredible value that resonate with true experiences to help others.
Delaney’s vision is to spread messages of self-love and empowerment, touching on mental health, physical health, and overall well-being.
Having grown up around mental illness, Delaney holds a personal understanding of the profound impact that simplicity and empathy can have on someone's life. This transformation has completely altered her perception of herself and the world around her. She hopes to evoke simplicity in others' lives, instilling a desire and curiosity for deeper self-understanding.
Nature has been a conduit of safety and slowness for Delaney, providing the space to process and heal. She hopes to bring that sense of peace and reflection to others, helping them transform hurt into love and carry forward their experiences with compassion; to view the world through a broader lens. A lens that holds endless possibilities for healthy, happy, and fruitful lives.
“I believe that movement is medicine and that nature and human connection heal.
I believe that if we tune in, slow down, and listen, that there is so much to learn.
That we are deserving of the time, space, and energy it takes to heal and process
To process our experiences
To process our hurt
To process our love, our lives.
That we must keep our hearts open, lead with love and be vulnerable to life.
As, we are constantly changing, evolving, growing, and learning
our curiosity serves as a guide to attune with ourselves.
And, our words shape us and our reality.”
Outside of Vessels of Joy, Delaney’s main passions lie within nature: rock climbing, trail running, and outdoor adventures. She loves learning and engaging in creative pursuits. She is a mom to two cats, Chi and Bob. She cherishes community and human connection. Delaney finds joy in experiencing the sensations of nature, like grass between her toes, crawling across rocks, and the river against her skin. In the future, she hopes to draw further inspiration from nature and organize Vessels of Joy events to encourage more people to enjoy the outdoors and connect to its healing capacities.
